Johns Creek Added Into Winter Weather Advisory
A revised advisory now includes north Fulton County, and expires at noon Feb. 17.

The National Weather Service has revised the portion of north Georgia covered under its winter weather advisory.
That means the area of Johns Creek and north Fulton County are now included in the advisory, which expires at noon Tuesday, Feb. 17.

NWS early Monday morning removed Fulton County from an advisory issued late Sunday afternoon, as forecasters expected the bulk of the slippery precipitation to remain to the north.

With the latest weather predictions, the Fulton County government will delay opening its offices until 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb 17 “due to possible icy conditions weather,” the county said on its website.

Mission essential personnel and all public safety agencies will report for duty at their normal times.
Along with north Fulton County, the revised winter weather advisory includes the counties of northwest Georgia, Bartow, Cherokee, Gwinnett, DeKalb, Barrow, Clarke and Jackson counties.
All Fulton County court operations will also open at 10 a.m., and jurors should report for duty at that time. The county closed its offices on Monday, Feb. 16 due to icy conditions slated to move into the area.
According to NWS, residents under the advisory should expect:
* ACCUMULATIONS...ICE ACCUMULATIONS AROUND .10 POSSIBLE.
* LOCATIONS...PORTIONS OF NORTH GEORGIA.
* HAZARD TYPES...A MIX OF FREEZING RAIN...RAIN AND SLEET.
* TIMING...RAIN AND FREEZING RAIN THIS EVENING BECOMING MOSTLY RAIN LATER TONIGHT. PRECIPITATION POSSIBLY MIXING WITH LIGHT SNOW BEFORE ENDING TUESDAY MORNING.
* IMPACTS...ICING ON ROADS...TREES AND POWER LINES IS LIKELY. DUE TO THE ICE ACCUMULATIONS...SOME SMALLER TREE LIMBS COULD COME DOWN. BLACK ICE WILL LIKELY FORM TUESDAY MORNING...RESULTING IN CONTINUED TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES THROUGH MIDDAY TUESDAY.
* TEMPERATURES...IN THE LOWER TO MID 30S THIS EVENING AND WARMING INTO THE UPPER 30S TONIGHT. TEMPERATURES WILL DROP INTO THE UPPER 20S TO LOWER 30S BY EARLY TUESDAY MORNING. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS... AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
