The council unanimously approved the agreement, which calls for the city paying the county $850,000 for the development of the site, construction of the public safety antenna structure and a harden shelter.
Any unused funds from the $850,000 would be refunded back to the city within 45 days of the project’s completion or Dec. 15, according to the agreement.

Johns Creek currently uses a single Fulton County public safety communication tower at Jones Bridge and Morton roads to cover the entirety of the city. The one tower doesn’t have the strength or height to give all of Johns Creek optimum service for first responders.
Fulton County plans to have its new APCO P25 Phase 2 TDMA 800 MHz simulcast trunked radio system completed and operational by the end of 2015, according to the city.
The council earlier this year approved an agreement with Forsyth County to utilize land at 6425 Old Atlanta Road in unincorporated Suwanee to build the antenna structure.

Additionally, Johns Creek leaders also voted to defer until June 1 a request from Gwinnett Prado, L.P. to change zoning conditions on property (zoned community business district) at 10815 State Bridge Road to allow for the construction of two retail or service commercial buildings on two outparcels.
