The city has called off Community Safety Day, which was slated to take place on Saturday, Oct. 3 in the parking lots of The Home Depot and Target at 5950 State Bridge Road.

Community Safety Day was billed as a precursor to Fire Prevention Week, which is designated for Oct. 4-10. Saturday’s event was designed to help heighten awareness about basic safety issues, the city previously said.
