Johns Creek City Hall Opens Sept. 18 In New Location

The city will move into a temporary location at 10700 Abbotts Bridge Road Suite 190 while its permanent facility undergoes renovations.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- The city of Johns Creek is packing its boxes and preparing to move to a new temporary City Hall, which will open to the public on Monday, Sept 18.

The space is located at 10700 Abbotts Bridge Road Suite 190. The current least for City Hall operations expires Sept. 30, and city leaders made the decision to move into a temporary facility with a less expensive lease while a new permanent location is under renovation.

There will be no disruption in city services during the move, as City Hall will remain open for normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 15 at the 12000 Findley Road location. Offices will open at 8 a.m. Monday at the new location (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Or, if you have an iPhone, download the free Patch app).

All city phone numbers and email addresses will remain the same; City Council work session and meetings for the rest of September will still be held at the old City Hall located at 12000 Findley Road. Beginning Oct. 3, City Council and most public meetings will be held at the current Police Department and Municipal Court facility at 11445 Johns Creek Parkway until renovations at the new City Hall are complete.

To view all public meetings, times and locations, visit the city's website. Johns Creek in February bought 7 acres and an existing 75,000-square-foot office building with 340 parking spaces at 11360 Lakefield Drive for a new Johns Creek City Hall and Public Safety Complex. The city currently leases space in two separate buildings, and the move to a consolidated facility will ultimately save taxpayer funds and provide a building for City Hall, police, fire and courts to more efficiently serve the citizens.

The location also backs up onto a 20-acre linear public park the city plans to develop as early as 2018. Renovations of the new City Hall facility are expected to take 12 to 18 months to be complete.
