Johns Creek Earns Distinguished Budget Presentation Award

The award was presented by the Government Finance Officers Association for the city's fiscal year 2018 budget.

JOHNS CREEK, GA — The Government Finance Officers Association has awarded the city of Johns Creek its Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its fiscal year 2018 budget. The award represents a significant achievement by the city, and reflects the commitment of Mayor Mike Bodker, City Council members, and staff to the highest principles of governmental budgeting.

In order to receive the budget award, Johns Creek had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. The guidelines are designed to assess how well an entity’s budget serves as: a policy document; financial plan; operations guide; and communications device.

Budget documents must be rated “proficient” in all four categories, and in 14 mandatory criteria within those categories, to receive the award.
