Johns Creek Fire Department Unveils New Ladder Truck

JOHNS CREEK, GA — The Johns Creek Fire Department on Thursday unveiled its newest fire truck at Station #61.

The fire department celebrated the new truck with a push-in ceremony during the unveiling. This tradition involves fire personnel banding together to push the fire truck into the station.

The 59-foot-long Tractor Drawn Aerial ladder truck weighs more than 68,000 pounds and has a driver seat in the front and rear, making it highly maneuverable.

The truck is similar in capacity to the JCFD fire engine unveiled in February but the new vehicle has the 100-foot vertical reach on the ladder.

JCFD currently has five engines and three aerial ladder trucks. The new aerial ladder will replace Truck 61 at the Medlock Bridge station. The ladder truck cost $1.25 million.
