Johns Creek Founders Day Parade On Dec. 2 (ICYMI)
The city of Johns Creek's 11th annual celebration will also require road closures on a portion of State Bridge Road.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- The 11th annual Founders Day Parade will march into Johns Creek at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, an event that's expected to draw dozens of entries and thousands of participants and spectators.
The annual parade welcomes back some perennial favorites, including the Yaarab Shriners, Seed & Feed Marching Abominable, princesses from Olivia’s Dollhouse, the Gwinnett Braves mascot “Chopper” and so many more.
In preparation for the big event, bands, vehicles, and floats are being assigned slots, volunteers are organized and a traffic plan has been implemented. A 1.4-mile section of State Bridge Road between Morton and Kimball Bridge roads will be closed on Saturday morning from about 8 a.m. to noon.

Road closings include side streets. Traffic from Twingate Drive will be allowed to enter and exit State Bridge Road in the direction of Medlock Bridge Road.

- 8 a.m.: State Bridge blocked off between East and West Morton roads. Morton Road is shaped like a horseshoe with both sides crossing State Bridge Road. Motorists on State Bridge Road can use Morton Road as a detour to go around the closed segment and continue on State Bridge until 9:15 a.m.
- 9:15 a.m.: Next segment of State Bridge Road, from West Morton Road to Jones Bridge Road, will be closed off. Jones Bridge remains open until about 10 a.m.
- 10 a.m.: State Bridge Road will be closed from East Morton Road to Kimball Bridge Road.
Roadblocks will be lifted by 1 p.m.
