Johns Creek Mayor Inducted Into Municipal Association Hall of Fame

Mike Bodker is currently serving as the immediate past president of the Georgia Municipal Association.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- Johns Creek Mayor Mike Bodker was inducted into the Georgia Municipal Association's Hall of Fame.

The ceremony took place on Monday, June 27 during the organization's annual convention held in Savannah.

Bodker served as GMA's present last year, and is now the organization's immediate past president. During the ceremony, he was presented with a Hall of Fame plaque by Dallas Mayor and GMA President Boyd Austin.

He was also presented with a gavel for his service as GMA president.

Also at the luncheon, Johns Creek City Clerk Joanie Jones, who serves as president of the Georgia Municipal Clerks, presented the Clerk of the Year award to Denise Jordan of the city of Gainesville, and the Finance Director of the Year award to Kathy Young of the city of Fitzgerald.

GMA, which is the only state organization that represents municipal governments in Georgia, is a voluntary, non-profit organization that provides legislative advocacy, educational, employee benefit and technical consulting services to its members.
