Johns Creek Officer Hit By Alleged Drunk Driver

An officer with the Johns Creek Police Department is expected to return to work this weekend after he was struck by an alleged drunk driver late last week.

Officer Eric Rozier was traveling along Jones Bridge Road at Bridges Drive during the early morning hours of Thursday, Oct. 22 when he was t-boned by a driver who ran a stop sign and hit his patrol vehicle, the agency said.

Capt. Chris Byers with Johns Creek police said Rozier only received minor injuries and is slated to return to work this weekend.

The driver of the passenger vehicle who allegedly ran the stop sign, Ricardo Ruiz-Barrera, was charged with DUI, failure to stop at a stop sign, driving without a license and open container.
