Here are the top three stories in Johns Creek today:

  1. On Thursday night, Mar. 2, two suspects broke into a Johns Creek Panera after hours and robbed a contractor after unsuccessfully trying to break into the Panera safe. The thieves tied up the contractor, stole his wallet and his truck, and then fled. One suspect, 20-year-old Roderick McLaughlin of McDonough, crashed the stolen truck in nearby Dunwoody after being chased by police and was arrested on multiple charges. Police are still searching for the second suspect. (Subscription: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
  2. The Johns Creek Police have surveillance video of a suspect stealing mail and packages from a mailroom at the Arium Johns Creek apartment complex on Medlock Crossing Parkway. On the night of Feb. 8, a suspect filled two duffel bags, one "duffel/roller bag," and a large box with stolen packages and mail. Police are still investigating the incident, and as of Mar. 5, it is unknown if the suspect is a tenant. The property manager said there is now increased security for the mailroom door. (Appen Media)
  3. New England Patriots captain and starting center David Andrews, a Johns Creek native, is proud of his Georgia roots, but ESPN said he has "officially become a year-round New Englander." Andrews has been helping out the community by reading to local elementary school students as well as visiting patients at the Boston Children's Hospital. The 30-year-old, his wife Mackenzie, and their 18-month-old son, Ford, now live permanently in New England after selling their Georgia home. Andrews said, "We have loved being here full-time."
