JC Police Blotter: Men Behaving Badly

Arrests

• On Jan. 8 a 26-year-old male was arrested for disorderly conduct outside the . Staff reported that he had thrown a chair in the general direction of staff inside the establishment. Police found the offender in the parking lot, yelling profanities at Tilted Kilt management. He continued to berate the arresting police officer. Once inside the police car, the offender continue to shout derogatory comments at the management and used threatening language toward the officers. He also repeatedly struck the window in the patrol vehicle with his head and continued yelling threats inside the vehicle. The management at Tilted Kilt did not pursue criminal charges, but did ask for the offender to be issued a criminal trespass warning.

• On Jan. 8 a 24-year-old male was arrested for aggravated assault and burglary at . Police responded to calls that a male was violently banging on the door to an apartment and threatening to kill the residents. When approaching the incident, police observed a steak knife jammed in between the door and door frame. The resident and victim opened the door. Her door frame was broken and laying on the ground. The victim reported that the offender lived in the apartment below her and had left the knife there. Police found the offender in the parking lot and arrested him.

The victim stated that before police found the suspect in the parking lot, she had heard him making scratching sounds at her door. She said she confronted him and he ran away. The victim went outside to see if the offender's mother was home. When she returned to her apartment, her garbage by her door had been torn open. The victim returned to the parking lot to sit in her car and wait for the offender's mother to return home. She then got a phone call from her son that the offender was kicking at the apartment door saying he was going to kill her and everyone inside. The victim's neighbors shielded her until she got inside the apartment. The offender continued kicking the door and finally forced it open, walking into the apartment and threatening her. The victim grabbed a knife and told the offender that she would use it in self defense. The offender then left the apartment.

Burglaries

• On Jan. 5 a home on Riverclub Parkway was reported broken into. Various cabinet doors throughout the home had been opened, and alcoholic beverages were reported stolen.

• On Jan. 7 a home on Ellicot Way was reported broken into. Steel shelves from the garage were reported stolen.

Thefts

• On Jan. 3 a vehicle tag was reported stolen from a trailer parked in a parking lot on Barnwell Road.
