Crime Blotter: Target Shoplifter Arrested

The following information was supplied by the Johns Creek Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Thefts

On Feb. 27 police arrested a 17-year-old white male for shoplifting silver earrings from  on State Bridge Road. The male was observed taking the earrings by an employee and was stopped at the exit and detained by the store's asset protection team until police arrived.

On March 2 a theatergoer at on Medlock Bridge Road reported that she temporarily left the theater to answer a call, leaving her purse on the floor. When she arrived home later she noticed that her wallet containing credit and debit cards and cash was missing from the purse.

Motor Vehicle Theft

On Feb. 27 a silver Toyota Corolla was reported stolen from the employee lot of Macy's Information Systems, 5985 State Bridge Road. The owner stated that there were no outstanding loans on the car, and there had been no repossessions reported at that time.

Burglaries

On Feb. 29 a home on Ogeechee Drive was reported broken into. The victim stated that when she returned home from work she found the window to her breakfast room pried open and blinds raised. She immediately exited the home and called police. The responding police officer had a police dog clear the residence before entering the home. The master bedroom was found ransacked and the office had been gone through. Various pieces of jewelry, a Nintendo game system and a digital camera were stolen.

Vehicle Break-Ins

On Feb. 27 a resident on Brookshire Lake Lane reported that all three of her vehicles, which were parked in her driveway and left unlocked, had been entered. The glove compartments had all been left opened and papers had been disturbed. Nothing appeared to have been taken.

On Feb. 28 a woman reported that her vehicle, parked near on Old Alabama Road, had been entered via an unlocked door, and wallet with cash had been taken.

On Feb. 28 a resident on Pembrooke Crossing reported his unlocked vehicle broken into. A Nook, iPod, GPS and gym bag were reported stolen. 

On Feb. 29 a vehicle parked on Tanners Court was reported broken into. There was no forced entry into the vehicle. A handbag that had been placed on the front armrest was reported stolen, along with a camera, lens, cell phone and makeup bag.

On March 1 a resident on Montclair Way reported his unlocked vehicle broken into and credit and debit cards stolen.

On March 3 a resident on Red Deer Way reported his vehicle broken into. The front passenger window had been smashed out. The face to the CD player had been pried off but was left on the seat. The glove box had been rummaged through, but nothing appeared to have been taken.

Property Damage

On Feb. 27 a resident on Autry Falls Drive reported the front windshield to her vehicle shattered. Her father stated that he has motion-activated cameras outside his home and will review the video and contact police if anything is found. He stated that he has recently had trouble with children walking through his yard to and from school.
