Johns Creek Police Chief Named Acting City Manager

JOHNS CREEK, GA — The Johns Creek City Council appointed Police Chief Ed Densmore as Acting City Manager following the approval of a separation agreement with Warren Hutmacher. Densmore was appointed to serve as acting city manager based on his proven leadership and his expert knowledge of the administration of the City of Johns Creek.

“City Council has the utmost respect and confidence in Chief Densmore’s professionalism, dedication and capabilities. The entire community will benefit from his guidance and expertise,” said Johns Creek Mayor Mike Bodker. “Chief Densmore is an exceptionally talented and experienced leader, and I am certain he will prove himself to be a valuable asset in his role as acting city manager.”

Densmore was appointed Police Chief with the launch of the Johns Creek Police Department in 2008 and previously served as Alpharetta's Police Chief, having been on that city's force since 1996. He began his law enforcement career in 1992 on patrol with the Decatur Georgia Police Department. Densmore holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University and is a graduate of the Command College at Columbus State University and the FBI National Academy.
