Johns Creek Prepares To Kick Off Holiday Season

Along with children's activities, the city will host its traditional Santa Jam tree and dreidel lightings Nov. 30 at City Hall.

The traditional Santa Jam tree and dreidel lightings at Johns Creek City Hall later this month will feature Santa, his reindeer and other festivities to kick off the 2015 holiday season.

Johns Creek’s event will start at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 30 with Christmas carols by the State Bridge Crossing Elementary School Chorus, followed by the lighting of the tree and dreidel at City Hall, which is located at 12000 Findley Road in Johns Creek.

Old St. Nick will hear youngsters’ wish lists. Free hot chocolate and hotdogs will be available while they last, and s’mores, too. There will be crafts, face-painting, and kids’ activities, including trackless train rides. The Santa Jam celebration concludes at 8:30 p.m.

Attendees can sign a montage of card designs submitted by Johns Creek elementary schools fifth graders. The cards will be given to veterans at the Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center on Dec. 11. The cards also can be signed that week at City Hall.

The Marine Corps Toys for Tots program will be collecting new toys for under-privileged children.
