Resident are invited to attend and participate in the hearings, which will take place at 11:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. July 15 in the Council Chambers at Johns Creek City Hall.
Each year, the Board of Tax Assessors is required to review the assessed value of taxable property in the county. When the trends of prices on properties that have recently sold in the county indicate there has been an increase in the fair market value of any specific property, the Board of Tax Assessors is required by law to re-determine the value of such property and adjust the assessment. This is called a reassessment.

While the city is planning to hold its rate at 4.614 mills, Johns Creek has incurred growth and the reassessment value effects the rollback rate, which is calculated to be a 7.43 percent increase for 2015.
Before Johns Creek leaders can set the rate, state law requires public hearings to be held to allow residents an opportunity to express their opinions on this tax increase.
The final meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, July 27, and the City Council is expected to adopt the rate following the hearing.
Johns Creek City Hall is located at 12000 Findley Road Suite 300.
