Johns Creek Resident To Compete in Miss Georgia USA 2015

Chelsea Alexandra Davis will compete for the title Nov. 20-22 at the Henry County Performing Arts Center.

Chelsea Alexandra Davis, 19, of Johns Creek will compete for the title of MISS GEORGIA USA 2015 later this month.

The competition will take place Nov. 20-22 at the Henry County Performing Arts Center in McDonough.

Davis is the daughter of Todd and Samantha Davis. She is a sophomore at Georgia Southern University and her activities and hobbies include playing the piano and violin, serving as a journalist for Georgia Southern’s Black Student Alliance and a member of the Freshman Council for BSA.

Her sponsors for the pageant are Sara Maxey, Jim and Selba Harris, Patricia B. Davis, James and Earlene Davis, Thomas J. and Brenda J. Dawson, Paul and Duschia Bodet, Kevin and Lasaida Moore, Dr. Bettie Davis­ Campbell, Richard and Doreen Davis Hezekiah and Jacquelyn Small, Dr. Shonda Davis­ Perry, Florence Davis, Constance Keith and Mr. and Mrs. Walette Ware.

Davis graduated in 2013 from Johns Creek High School. While in high school, she was a varsity cheerleader for two years and played in the Johns Creek Orchestra for four years.

Davis is also a graduate from the Barbizon Modeling School in Atlanta. She has been playing piano for 15 years and violin for eight. She has been active in her community over the years by performing community service projects through Johns Creek High School’s Cheerleading Program and a high school club called iRise.

She has helped raise money for breast cancer and heart disease during those years. She also gives back to her community annually at the Atlanta Day Women’s Shelter where she helps collect clothes and toys for the women and children at the shelter during the holiday season.

She is a big advocate for veterans health care, as many of her family members have served in previous wars. Currently her grandfather, a Korean War veteran, is being cared for at the Miami VA Healthcare System.

The young woman chosen as Miss Georgia USA 2015 will go on to represent the state in the 2015 Miss USA® pageant, one of the most anticipated television events of the year.
