Johns Creek Resident To Turn 105
Mary Brown, a resident at Ivy Hall in Johns Creek, will celebrate her 105th birthday on March 30.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- A woman in Johns Creek is reaching a major milestone at the end of this month when she turns 105-years-old.
Mary R. Brown, a native of Duluth, was born on March 30, 1914 and now lives in Ivy Hall Assisted Living Resident in Johns Creek. Brown is a widow, married for over 45 years to James O. Brown. She has three children: Roy Collins Jr., Edward Collins (both deceased) and James M. Brown who lives in Duluth with his wife Carrene. She has two grandchildren Andre’ Brown of California, Melissa Kennebrew of Duluth and five great-grandchildren: Jahnae, Izayah, Isaac, Ryan and Aiden.
Brown attributes her longevity to clean living, hard work and taking care of herself. She does confess she tried smoking cigarettes once, but only made it through one pack. Mary grew up on Findley Farm in Duluth and lived there for 50 years. She loved to cook and was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church. She starts her day reading the daily paper and is a life-long Atlanta Braves fan. Brown loves baseball and played the sport as a young girl on the farm with her cousins. Those who know Brown say she spent her life taking care of her family, is independent and strong willed.

A family celebration is planned for Brown on her birthday where she resides at Ivy Hall Assisted Living in Johns Creek.
