Johns Creek Student Nominated For Jefferson Scholars Competition

Gwinnett County-based Wesleyan School has nominated Johns Creek teenager Hannah Peterson for this year’s Jefferson Scholars competition.

A faculty committee nominated the Johns Creek resident for the competition.

High schools across the country are asked to select one senior to participate. Approximately 1,750 students will be nominated by their schools, and 120 of those students will be selected as finalists.

Last year, 34 students were selected as Jefferson Scholars.

The Jefferson Scholars Foundation seeks to attract the most promising scholars to the University of Virginia. It looks for high school seniors who possess exceptional ability in leadership and scholarship and who show promise of making a significant contribution to the University community as students and to society at large as graduates.
