Johns Creek To Unveil New Fire Ladder Truck

The fire department during the event will hold a push-in ceremony, a tradition of personnel moving the truck into the station.

JOHNS CREEK, GA — The Johns Creek Fire Department will unveil its newest truck on Thursday, May 24 during a ceremony at Station No. 61.

The ceremony will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the station located at 10265 Medlock Bridge Parkway. The 59-foot long Tractor Drawn Aerial ladder truck weighs more than 68,000 pounds and has a driver seat in the front and rear, making it highly maneuverable.

The truck is similar in capacity to the JCFD fire engine unveiled in February but the new vehicle has the 100-foot vertical reach on the ladder. During Thursday's event, Johns Creek fire crews will hold a “push-in” ceremony, which is a tradition of personnel moving the truck into the fire station.
