Officers with the agency were dispatched to a home on Laketrail Drive around 9:05 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14 and met with the resident, who said she was alerted to her ringing doorbell by a man who said he was there to deliver Chinese food.

According to an incident report released by the agency, the resident said she told the man she did not order any food and refused to open the door. However, the man continued to ring her doorbell and knocked on the door, “insisting that they were there to deliver Chinese food.”

Once the woman partially open the door, the suspect shoved his way into the house, hit the woman in the face and used a pistol to hit her in the head several times, the report states.

The suspect, who the victim described as a heavy set black male in his mid 30’s, allegedly demanded her to tell him where the money was and also tried to place duct tape around the woman’s mouth.

Both the victim and suspect engaged in a struggle, and the woman repeatedly yelled for help. In the meantime, another suspect -- described as another black male in his 30s -- stood on the back patio.

The first suspect, according to the report, motioned to the second suspect in an attempt to communicate with him and tried to push the woman out the back door.

Both men eventually fled the home after the victim continued to yell for help, the report states.

A resident who was out walking his dog heard the victim’s cries and ran towards the home. As he made his way to the house, the resident told police he saw two men allegedly run from the home towards Lakehill Way and Morton Road.

Capt. Chris Byers, spokesperson with Johns Creek police, said the victim’s ex-husband arrived on the scene, and told detectives he believed he was the actual target in the attack.

Byers added the ex-husband said he was “pretty sure” about the identities of the suspects, but “would not cooperate with us in any shape or form.”

Additionally, the victim scratched one of the suspect’s in the face during the struggle, so police were able to obtain DNA from under the woman’s fingernails. They were also able to lift a partial fingerprint from the duct tape used in the struggle, Byers said.

Both of these clues, Byers added, could yield to the identity of at least one suspect.

The first suspect was about 5’7’’ and weighs around 250 pounds. He was wearing a “gold grill” on his teeth and a red hoodie. The second suspect is roughly 6 feet tall, has a thin build and had on a black skull bandanna.
