KRC Communications wins Media Excellence Award

Ron and Kathy Cioffi, owners of Johns Creek-based KRC Communications, were honored during USTA Georgia's annual award ceremony

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. – Ron and Kathy Cioffi, owners of KRC Communications, were awarded the Marc Kaplan Media Excellence Award by USTA Georgia during the organization’s annual award ceremony Jan. 28.

Presented in memory of Marc Kaplan, former Director of Communications for the USTA Southern Section, the award honors individuals or organizations for significant contributions to the sport of tennis through media promotion and coverage of events and people involved in tennis.

Along with producing the USTA Southern Yearbook for 19 years, KRC has designed the program for several international tennis tournaments, including all years of the BB&T Atlanta Open (beginning in 2010) and the Winston-Salem Open (beginning in 2011). KRC also produces USTA Southern’s insert into Tennis magazine and is the webmaster of the national award-winning TennisReporters.net and the International Tennis Writers Association.

Additionally, Johns Creek-based KRC has provided publication, marketing, PR and website assistance to a variety of other clients over the past 20 years including, most recently, the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra.

Some of KRC’s other longtime publications include the annual championship magazine for the college-level SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference as well as numerous programs, both print and online, for local high school football, baseball, basketball and lacrosse teams, among other sports. Kathy’s volunteer activities include uploading Chattahoochee High School news and other local information to Patch.
