Leadership Johns Creek Seeks New Members

The organization exposes residents to various aspects of the city during a 10-month leadership development program.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- Leadership Johns Creek is looking for local residents who want to get involved in their community to consider joining its ranks.

The organization develops leadership talent in individuals representing the Johns Creek community through a series of structured learning experiences.

Class participants gain insights into business, government, community quality of life, volunteer service and local history during the 10-month program.

Along with leadership improvement, the program is designed to help class participants build relationships, bolster community involvement, identify opportunities for community improvement, engage in professional networking and take part in fun activities such as Leadership Johns Creek's softball team.

Previous class members of Leadership Johns Creek have had a helping hand in a number of community service projects, including the community garden and murals at Newtown Park, establishing an education pond at Autrey Mill Nature Preserve and Heritage Center and assisting in the master plan to install public art throughout Johns Creek.

The program tuition is $1,500, and annual alumni dues are $50. Time commitment for class members include a two-day kickoff retreat and one program day that will be held the second Thursday of each month September through May.

Each class will be divided into groups, and will be required to actively participate in a service project.
