Legacy of Excellence Lunch Honors Fulton Teachers, Employees

Fulton County Schools’ top employees will be honored on Friday, Nov. 13 at the district’s annual recognition luncheon.

The two-hour program begins promptly at 11:30 a.m. at the Georgia World Congress Center’s Georgia Ballroom (Building C), located at 285 International Boulevard NW in Atlanta.

Donna Lowry, kids and schools reporter from WXIA 11Alive, will serve as the program emcee.

The Legacy of Excellence luncheon is hosted by the Fulton Education Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides financial and in-kind support to the Fulton County School System. The Foundation’s Board of Directors include business and community volunteers who are committed to developing new resources, building collaborative relationships, and strengthening the link between business, community and schools.

Tomorrow more than 1,300 employees, business partners and special guests will gather to pay tribute to each school’s and administrative building’s employees of the year. The celebration also is a time when schools formally honor the partnerships that have made outstanding contributions to student achievement.

Jameda Owens from Bear Creek Middle School will be honored as Fulton County Schools’ Teacher of the Year while Tim Duncan, formerly of Chattahoochee High School, will be recognized as the district’s Principal of the Year.

Pedro Gacutan of Campbell Elementary School will be honored as the School Professional of the Year and Samuel Rickett of North Maintenance will be honored as the Support Professional of the Year.
