LEGO Camp Allows Kids To Explore Creative Side

Registration is now open for the five-day camp, which starts July 27 at the Newtown Park Community Clubhouse.

Johns Creek residents can ignite the architectural or engineering spark inside their children by allowing them to take part in a new five-day LEGO Camp that will get underway in July.

Registration started May 1 and runs through July 17. Camp sessions will be held July 27-31 at the Newtown Park Community Clubhouse.

Under the direction of Play-Well TEKnologies staff, the half-day camp targets youngsters 5 to 11 years old. The camps are designed to spark creativity and the exploration of basic engineering principles. Kids can build engineer-designed projects, such as boats, bridges, mazes and motorized cars.

The camp for kids 5-7 years old runs from 9 a.m. to noon, while camp for kids 8-11 runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Camp size is 11 to 24 children. Fees are $150 for Johns Creek residents, and $225 for non-residents.

The clubhouse is at 3115 Old Alabama Road in Johns Creek.
