JOHNS CREEK, GA — Johns Creek Police arrested a man early Friday morning after he tripped a burglary alarm at a restaurant.

The man, who tripped the alarm around 2 a.m., was found on the roof of the LongHorn Steakhouse, 10845 Medlock Bridge Road in Johns Creek.

He was arrested around 6 a.m. after officers determined he was attempting to burglarize the restaurant, Johns Creek Police Sgt. Tyler Seymour told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“My understanding is the individual was using power tools inside we believe, obviously, to try to access some type of safe or item inside the management office,” Seymour told the AJC. “Upon approaching the broken door, they did realize the suspect was trying to exit out of the other side of the business, at which point the subject retreated back inside."

The man, whose name has not yet been released, then used a ladder to climb onto the roof of a storage area behind the restaurant, Seymour told the paper. He was then arrested by the North Metro SWAT Team.

Seymour said it is believed the man was working alone, but was potentially responsible for other recent burglaries across the metro Atlanta area.

“We will have to follow up with those jurisdictions,” Seymour told the AJC. “The initial indication is this possibly may be a subject associated with those [burglaries].”
