For the second year we are offering Science Camps to engage older campers with exploration and study of the habitats and wildlife of Autrey Mill through hands-on activities and science experiments. Hikes, visits with our animals, games, and crafts will round out the camp sessions.

This camp will give 11-14 year olds the opportunity to learn about the different animals that live in Georgia. Students will observe, identify, and classify birds, fish, insects, reptiles, amphibians, and more. We will use microscopes and other hands on scientific equipment to help identify, properly record, and measure the flora and fauna of Georgia.

Through a variety of interactive, engaging activities, campers in our new Naturalist Camp will have the opportunity to learn about how scientists study the environment. Campers will be exposed to soil and water chemistry techniques and use the scientific method to learn about the plants, animals, and fungi that live in Georgia.
