MLB Pitch, Hit & Run Competition Comes to Ocee Park

The free contest will be held April 25 and is open to all boys and girls.

Johns Creek boys and girls can challenge their baseball or softball skills April 25 at the Major League Baseball (MLB) Pitch, Hit & Run competition.

The competition will be held at Ocee Park.

The free contest, sponsored by Scotts lawn care company, is open to all boys and girls 7 to 14 years old. Champions in each category and age group from local competition advance to the Sectional.

Those winners advance to a regional competition at a Major League Ballpark, and then to the National Finals at the 2015 MLB All-Star Game.

Boys and girls compete separately in four age groups (7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14) in three important aspects of baseball: pitching, hitting and running bases.

Registration starts at 9:30 a.m., and the competition runs from 10 a.m. to noon. Pre-registration is also available on the city’s website.

Participants must bring a copy of the player’s birth certificate, and a completed registration/waiver form must be filled out at check-in.
