UPDATE: Mother Taken Into Custody After Kidnapping Daughter From Johns Creek

Taleiyah Brown, 12, was last seen getting off the school bus at the Chelsea Ridge Apartments and into a red, four-door vehicle.

UPDATE at 8 p.m.: Johns Creek police spokesperson Lt. Chris Byers said Williams was taken into custody Friday by Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, police. Her daughter is safe, he added.

The mother of a missing Johns Creek girl is wanted for allegedly kidnapping her daughter earlier this week.

Police have charged Laurn Williams, 32, with kidnapping and interstate interference with the custody of Taleiyah Brown, 12, according to the Johns Creek Police Department’s Facebook post.

Police on Wednesday said Taleiyah was last seen getting off the school bus at the Chelsea Ridge Apartments on Medlock Crossing Parkway and into a red, four-door vehicle, the agency wrote on its Facebook page.

The agency’s post on Friday indicates Taleiyah was picked up by her mother, who is the “non-custodial parent.” Johns Creek police spokesperson Lt. Chris Byers said police believe mother and daughter are now in Pennsylvania.

Williams is a black female, 5’1’’ tall and weighs around 112 pounds. Brown is also a black female and was last seen wearing maroon sweat pants, a faded gray hoodie sweat shirt and her hair was wrapped in a brown and black scarf.

Residents are asked to call 911 if they see Williams and Brown.
