Motorcyclist Killed In Forsyth County Crash

The Johns Creek resident died Friday morning in a two-vehicle collision in southern Forsyth County.

FORSYTH COUNTY, GA -- A North Fulton County man died early Friday morning in a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle in Forsyth County. Deputies were dispatched to the collision around 8:20 a.m. Dec. 15 at the intersection of Atlanta Highway and Creamer Drive.

A preliminary report indicates a 2005 Triumph motorcycle was traveling northbound on Atlanta Highway towards its intersection with Creamer Drive while a 2017 Ford Escape was going southbound in the opposite direction. The motorcycle, the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said, struck the Ford Escape on the passenger side rear door as the SUV was making a left turn.

The operator of the motorcycle has been identified as 29-year-old James Rollins, who was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries, the sheriff's office added. The driver of the Ford Escape, 43-year-old Jody Robinson of Alpharetta, was not injured in the collision. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Specialist Unit.

According to Rollins' obituary, the Johns Creek resident is survived by wife, Catherine Rollins; 8-month old daughter, Tyler Grace; and his parents, Bill and Dianne Rollins. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22 at Christ the Shepherd Lutheran Church at 4655 Webb Bridge Road in Alpharetta.
