Georgia Lacrosse Player Headed National Warrior Invitational
Malik Gay competes with "best in class" players from across the nation.
Malik Gay of Mount Pisgah Christian School in Johns Creek, GA has been selected as one of only a few Georgia players to attend the 2016 Warrior National Prospect Invitational (NPI). Selection to the Warrior National Prospect Invite goes well beyond the athlete's exceptional performance on the field. Invitees had to meet a certain academic requirement, as well as demonstrate integrity and respect in the classroom and community.
Eligible nominations were judged by a panel of coaches, school administrators and recruiting experts. Candidates were selected after a comprehensive nomination and coach referral process, and only 430 “best of the best" uncommitted high school players from the 2018 and 2019 class are hand-picked to participate.
Gay has a clear commitment to lacrosse on and off the field. He incorporated his own national lacrosse company, LaxLik.com when he was 12 years old. Gay is also the inaugural winner of the national U.S. Lacrosse Association's Diversity Essay Competition.

“What makes the National Prospect Invite so exciting is that it provides NCAA lacrosse coaches with a terrific opportunity to scout uncommitted ‘best in class’ players that have met a rigorous selection criteria,” explained Chris Boland, general manager of the National Prospect Invite. “We’ve made it easier for coaches to find outstanding talent for their colleges and universities by prequalifying the student athletes and giving them a two-day lacrosse forum in which to demonstrate their skills.”

The opportunity is one Malik is fully embracing. "I'm so thankful to be one of only a few players from Georgia competing in the invitational. It's exciting to get to play in front of top college coaches and learn from some of the best in the game. I'm ready to represent my school, my club team 3D GA and my family."
The Brine National Lacrosse Classic and Warrior National Prospect Invite, powered by New Balance, both take place at the River City Sports Complex in Richmond, VA from July 19-22, 2016. Game and program schedules are staggered so that players get maximum game time – and visiting NCAA coaches get optimal scouting and recruiting opportunities.
