Movies at Newtown Park To Feature 'Big Hero 6'
Pre-show activities will start at 7 p.m. and the movie will start around dusk on Saturday, Aug. 8.

Load up a picnic basket, the kids and a blanket and head over to Newtown Park on Saturday to watch a 14-year-old robotics prodigy and an inflatable robot take on a villian.

“Big Hero 6” will be be shown Aug. 8 as part of Johns Creek’s Movies at Newtown Park series.
The Disney film is about Hiro and Baymax as they and four nerdy friends form a superhero team to battle a villain who has stolen Hiro’s late brother’s invention.

The 2014 film won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature and the Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite Animated Movie. The film is 102 minutes long and is rated PG.
In addition to the films, which are free, Movies at Newtown Park includes pre-show entertainment like inflatable moonwalk, face-painting, children’s activities, give-aways, music, food and drinks.
Pre-show activities start at 7 p.m. The movie starts at dusk (about 9 p.m.) and are shown on a large inflatable screen. Families are encouraged to bring blankets and relax as they watch the movie. No alcohol or pets please.
The 2015 Movies at Newtown Park series is being sponsored by Northside Hospital.
