Movies at Newtown Park Return Saturday With 'Penguins of Madagascar'

The cool “Penguins of Madagascar” will embark on some hot adventures July 11 as the second film in the Movies at Newtown Park summer series in Johns Creek.

The animated DreamWorks movie features four penguins, Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private, who join forces with undercover organization The North Wind to stop the villainous Dr. Octavius Brine from destroying the world. The film is 92 minutes long and is rated PG.

In addition to the films, which are free, Movies at Newtown Park includes pre-show entertainment like inflatable moonwalk, face-painting, children’s activities, giveaways, music, food and drinks. Pre-show activities start about two hours before sundown.

The movies start at dusk and are shown on a large inflatable screen. Families are encouraged to bring blankets and relax as they watch the movie. No alcohol or pets please.

The movie titles will be announced a week prior to each event. Movies are rated G or PG. The 2015 Movies at Newtown Park series is being sponsored by Northside Hospital. The final date for the series is set for Aug. 8.
