Mural Project Wants To Preserve Johns Creek Memories

Residents are asked to submit their stories to be incorporated in a mural inside the pedestrian tunnel under Medlock Bridge Road.

JOHNS CREEK, GA — Two organizations are behind a unique push to incorporate your stories about Johns Creek into a work of art.

If you have a memorable experience along the Chattahoochee River or at one of the city's parks, then you are asked to share your stories with the Johns Creek Convention and Visitors Bureau and Urban Catalyst Lab.

These organizations would like to incorporate your stories as a mural inside the pedestrian tunnel under Medlock Bridge Road/S.R. 141 (For more news like this, find your local Patch here. If you have an iPhone, click here to get the free Patch iPhone app; download the free Patch Android app here).

Artists William Massey and Hanif Kureshi will work with residents to create this mural in April. The artists will use the stories to shape the designs of the mural. You can participate by writing a one sentence or, if it suits you, a one-page story about an experience in the tunnel, on or along the river or one of Johns Creek parks.

Be sure to send your story to courtney@urbancatalyst.org.
