North Fulton Community Charities Awarded $1,000 Grant

The Delta Community Philanthropic Fund also donated $5,000 to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- Two Fulton County-based charities are the latest recipients of grants from the Delta Community Philanthropic Fund.

In a ceremony at its Johns Creek branch, Delta Community Credit Union CEO Hank Halter presented a $5,000 award to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and a $1,000 award to North Fulton Community Charities.

The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation says the Delta Community grant will support its Butterfly Fund program at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. The Butterfly Fund provides emergency financial assistance for families when a child is in treatment for brain cancer.

Treatment often lasts several years, and parents may be forced to take unpaid time off from work, or even leave their jobs. The Butterfly Fund helps with household expenses such as rent, utilities and gasoline so that parents can focus on their child.

North Fulton Community Charities (NFCC) will use its $1,000 grant to fund its Family Enrichment Education Center, which builds self-sufficiency and prevents homelessness and hunger by providing emergency assistance and enrichment programs.
