The event will take place at Webb Bridge Middle School, which is located at 4455 Webb Bridge Road in Alpharetta.
“Cancer touches most all of us in some way... a sister, brother, parent, grandparent, friend or colleague,” said Webb Bridge Middle School Principal Susan Opferman. ”This year, the Webb Bridge Middle School staff was touched in a very personal way when we found out that two of our staff members were diagnosed with early stage breast cancer. When cancer touches someone we know, love and care about, it becomes very personal. We decided to be a host school as a way to honor these special ladies.”

The North Fulton Relay For Life event, the American Cancer Society’s most popular fundraising event for cancer research, will be held from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, May 14.
Traditionally held overnight, the 2016 North Fulton Relay will be a seven-hour event, but it will still include opening ceremonies, guest speakers and entertainers, a Survivors Dinner, survivor and caregiver laps, live music, games and activities for all ages, food and the trademark Luminary Lap.
Relay For Life is a community-based, volunteer-driven event held annually in cities throughout the world. Teams get together and fundraise over several months in advance of the Relay either online, by organizing mini fundraisers or give-back events, or by personally contacting friends and family.
On the day of the ceremony in North Fulton, participants will set up sites around the Webb Bridge Middle track and take turns walking or running laps in memory and in honor of those they’ve lost to cancer and those currently in a fight against the disease.
They will also enjoy tons of fun and entertainment sponsored by the North Fulton Event Leadership Team, free of charge. Additional games, trinkets, food and beverages will also be available for sale by individual teams at their sites to benefit the Cancer Society.
More than 40 teams and 500 registered participants from Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Milton and Sandy Springs businesses, places of worship, schools, community groups and more attended this year’s North Fulton Relay at the Milton Center Stadium in May. Those efforts raised $150,000 for the American Cancer Society’s lifesaving mission.
Internationally, Relay has raised more than $5 billion since 1985 for cancer research.
