North Fulton Transportation Plan Seeks Feedback

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- North Fulton County's six cities — Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Milton, Mountain Park, Roswell, and Sandy Springs — are partnering with the Atlanta Regional Commission to complete an update of the North Fulton Comprehensive Transportation Plan.

The NFCTP, which was first adopted in 2010, will consider transportation solutions across multiple modes, including roadway, public transit, bicycle, pedestrian, and freight, in both the near term (5 years) and the long term (25 years).

The project team is seeking feedback from the community, and five public input meetings have been scheduled.

The same information will be shared at each meeting, so individuals are encouraged to attend any meeting, which will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.:

• Tuesday, Sept. 27: Roswell City Hall (38 Hill Street, Roswell, GA 30075)
• Wednesday, Sept. 28: Johns Creek City Hall (12000 Findley Road, Johns Creek, GA 30097)
• Thursday, Sept. 29: Sandy Springs City Hall (7840 Roswell Road, Building 500, Sandy Springs, GA 30350)
• Wednesday, Oct. 5: Alpharetta City Hall (2 Park Plaza, Alpharetta, GA 30009)
• Tuesday, Oct. 11: Milton City Hall (13000 Deerfield Parkway, Suite 107, Milton, GA 30004)

The project team will be also present at community events in each of the five major cities. Additionally, an online survey will be available for all members of the public to provide feedback on future transportation needs.

The North Fulton Comprehensive Transportation Plan is an effort used to prioritize critical transportation investments for the next 25 years. This effort builds on the Fulton County Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (TSPLOST), which could provide $378 million for transportation improvements in North Fulton should the referendum pass on Nov. 8.

Many of the projects in the Johns Creek TSPLOST list were identified as priorities in the 2008 Johns Creek Transportation Master Plan and in the 2010 NFCTP.
