Northview Students Named Regional Winners In Science Competition
The team of students won regional honors in the 26th annual Toshiba/National Science Teachers Association ExploraVision program.

JOHNS CREEK, GA — Northview High School held an awards ceremony last week to honor a team of ninth-grade students who were named the regional winners in the 26th annual Toshiba/National Science Teachers Association ExploraVision program.
The three students — Justin Yang, Dristi Shah and Ishita Vaish — and coach Stephanie Rogman were recognized for their invention designed to revolutionize vaccinations. The students created a Biodegradable Vaccination Patch, which would provide easier access to vaccines for patients, particularly those living in developing nations.
This patch has four parts: an array of microneedles filled with the tuberculosis vaccine that degrades over time due to exposure in the environment; a biodegradable sanitation gel to clean the skin’s surface before injection; a biodegradable adhesive portion akin to that of a bandage; and an outer biodegradable bandage to protect the dressing from water.
