Woman, 70, Critical After Being Hit, Dragged By Delivery Truck

An elderly Johns Creek woman is in critical condition after she was hit and dragged by a delivery truck outside an assisted living center.

A delivery truck was backing out of Sunrise Assisted Living on Old Alabama Road around 12:40 p.m. Thursday when ”it struck the nurse working at the location,” said Johns Creek police spokesperson Capt. Chris Byers.

Byers said the woman was trapped under the vehicle until rescue workers were able to free her.

She was transported by helicopter to Atlanta Medical Center where she underwent surgery. Byers said the woman is now in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
