Officers, Firefighters Face Off In Big Green Egg Battle
The cook-off competition, which will benefit the Johns Creek Public Safety Foundation, will be held Aug. 13 at A&S Culinary Concepts.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- The men and women dedicated to keeping Johns Creek safe will battle for cook-off bragging rights in the Big Green Egg Battle.
The first-ever event, which will benefit the Johns Creek Public Safety Foundation, will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13.
Johns Creek officers and firefighters will square off with spatulas, tongs, cutting boards and other tools to showcase their culinary skills in the event.

The two teams will compete to create tasty appetizers and entrees using a Big Green Egg at A&S Culinary Concepts, which is located at 9945 Jones Bridge Road.
Contestants won’t know what they’ll be cooking until the competition commences. Judges will consist of chefs provided by the culinary school and the public. The winner earns bragging rights and a trophy.

Tickets to sample the results cost $10 per person. Raffle tickets for a medium Green Egg cost $5. Tickets are available online, or at the city’s three fire stations and at the headquarters of the Police and Fire departments:
- Fire Station 61, 10265 Medlock Bridge Parkway
- Fire Station 62, 10925 Rogers Circle
- Fire Station 63, 3165 Old Alabama Road
- Fire Department headquarters, 12000 Findley Road Suite 300
- Police Department headquarters, 11445 Johns Creek Parkway
Proceeds benefit the Johns Creek Public Safety Foundation, and canned food donations will be collected for the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
The event features entertainment for the whole family, including bounce houses, a petting zoo and music by the School of Rock.
The fun runs from noon to 4 p.m. with the cooking starting at 1 p.m. The Johns Creek Public Safety Foundation was established in 2008 to assist firefighters and police officers injured in the line of duty or to assist their families.
As a 501(c)3 entity separate from the city of Johns Creek, the Foundation also promotes and supports community outreach on the part of the Johns Creek Fire Department and the Johns Creek Police Department and encourages private sector support for Johns Creek's public safety personnel.
