Sound studies are underway, and contractors have been tasked with design proposals for sound barriers such as berms, walls, fences, or a combination of each. The city's Public Works Department has strongly recommended that the width of medians along McGinnis Ferry Road be limited to 8 feet in order to mitigate the impact on property.
Johns Creek is working with Forsyth County, the city of Alpharetta, Georgia DOT and the contractors designing the projects toward an agreement on the final concept. No final decisions will be made until issues surrounding the median and noise mitigation have been addressed.
