After obtaining identification, the officer determined that the driver and the passenger in front of the car were below the legal alcohol consumption age and were charged with underage consumption, a misdemeanor. The passenger in the back was released without incident as he was of legal drinking age.
Due to the subjects' age, the officer determined that the best course of action would be to defer them to the city's STOP program.
