'The Nutcracker' Comes To Perimeter Church Stage

Perimeter Church’s Perimeter Ballet will partner with the Atlanta Professional Dance Academy to present “The Nutcracker” Friday, December 1 through Sunday, December 3.

This “Nutcracker” will be a special blend of Chinese and American dance cultures in this popular holiday classic filled with exquisite costumes, beautiful Tchaikovsky music and a cast of more than 70 dancers that will delight the entire family! The performance runs approximately 75 minutes and features professional guest artists, Heath Gill and Momchil Mladenov. Gill is a former principal dancer with Atlanta Ballet, and has been recognized for his dancing as one of ArtsATL’s “30 under 30” and Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch.” Gill is currently the co-founder of Terminus Modern Ballet Company. Mladenov is a former principal dancer with the National Ballet of Bulgaria and The Suzanne Farrell Ballet. A native of Bulgaria, he trained at the National School of Ballet in Bulgaria, and founded Cultural Bridges Association with its mission to expand the repertoire of Bulgarian ballet and enhance its standing by introducing the dancers to the diverse range of American ballet.

“We are excited to partner with Atlanta professional dance academy, under the talented leadership of Wei Dongsheng. It is a wonderful opportunity to see two unique ballet companies working together to support each other and to create the best production possible. There are multiple productions of “The Nutcracker” every weekend from Thanksgiving until Christmas in the Atlanta area alone, but you rarely see two separate ballet companies working together with the common goal of creating a great show for their community,” says Becky Brown, director of Perimeter Ballet.

Performances will be on Friday, December 1 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, December 2 at 11 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 3 at 3:00 p.m. in Perimeter Church’s Main Sanctuary, located at 9500 Medlock Bridge Road, Johns Creek, Ga.
