Nine Teens Arrested for Underage Drinking
On July 11 a Johns Creek Police officer was dispatched to a home on Waddington Trace in reference to a noise complaint. As the officer approached the home, he could hear several voices coming from behind a residence two houses away, so he asked for a second unit to be dispatched.
While the officer was waiting on the second unit, he saw a female come out of the residence. She stated that she had not been drinking nor smoking marijuana. The officer told her to call her parents so they could pick her up.

The officer told them to stop and have a seat in the kitchen. The officer saw numerous beer cans and a wine bottle on the kitchen counter and could smell burnt marijuana.

The resident of the home said that his mother was out of town. Each teenager was instructed to contact their parents so that the officers could release them to them. The suspects all tested positive with an alcohol sensor, and all admitted to drinking and several admitted to smoking marijuana.
Each teenager was released to their parents with an Underage Diversion class set, except the resident and a female whose parents could not be reached. The resident and the female were released to the female's sister and were issued citations for minors in possessions with court dates set.
Female Arrested for Marijuana Possession, Underage Drinking
On July 10 a Johns Creek Police officer saw a vehicle traveling on Old Alabama Road with no headlights on at night and in the rain.
The officer pulled the vehicle over and noticed the driver had cigarette rolling papers in her lap and loose currency on the center console. The officer asked the driver if there were any illegal items in the vehicle, and she said no.
The officer also asked a passenger for her license, and got consent to search the vehicle. The passenger told the officer that the driver had alcohol in the back seat but did not know about any other illegal items.
The driver then told the officer about the alcohol and that there was a small amount of marijuana in the console.
The officer searched the vehicle and located the marijuana in a prescription medicine bottle, a glass pipe with marijuana residue and various bottles of liquor.
The driver said that all of the items were hers and that the passenger did not supply any of the items. The officer called the driver's father to come to the scene.
The driver was cited for no headlights, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. She was released to her father with a summons for the Underage Diversion Program. The passenger was not charged.
