Police: Former Reality TV Star Threatens Car Wash Employee With Gun

Johns Creek, Ga., police have taken out arrest warrants for Mickey "Memphitz" Wright, who accused the man of stealing weed from his Jeep.

Detectives in an Atlanta suburb have obtained arrested warrants for a former reality TV star who allegedly threatened a car wash employee with a handgun after accusing the man of taking marijuana from his vehicle.

Warrants have been taken out for Mickey “Memphitz” Wright on armed robbery and aggravated assault charges, the Johns Creek Police Department said on Friday in its press release.

Johns Creek police spokesperson Capt. Chris Byers confirmed to Patch that Wright is the same man who was previously married to rapper Lil Wayne’s ex-wife, Toya Carter, the central cast member of BET’s reality show, “Toya: A Family Affair.”

Wright is also a former A&R of Arista Records and once hosted BET’s ”The Deal,” according to the cable network.

The incident, which occurred Thursday, June 25, involves Wright “allegedly pointing a handgun” at an employee at Club Corners car wash on Medlock Bridge Road, the agency stated.

Wright took his white Jeep Wrangler to the facility and received a car wash from the business. Wright paid his ticket and left the establishment.

However, he returned a short time later and accused an employee of stealing his marijuana, according to an incident report released by the police department.

“Mr. Wright allegedly confronted the employee, produced a pink handgun and pointed it at the employee demanding him to return the stolen drugs,” Byers added. “Wright then left the car wash and later returned to have a physical altercation with the same employee.”

During the altercation, Byers said Wright allegedly pointed to his pocket where his handgun was located and “made threatening statements while taking the victim’s cell phone.”

Another employee told police that Wright threatened to “fire this place up if he did not get his weed back,” according to the incident report.

The Jeep, gun and phone were all located a short time later at a shopping center in the 6000 block of Medlock Bridge Parkway by Johns Creek police. The vehicle had been abandoned, and Wright was not located on the scene.

Detectives used physical and video surveillance to identify Wright as the perpetrator, Byers stated.

Anyone with information about Wright’s whereabouts is asked to call Detective Brown at 678-474-1593.
