Pollo Tropical To Open in Johns Creek

Pollo Tropical, Florida’s fast-casual concept known for its citrus-marinated, flame-grilled chicken and array of authentic sauces and sides, will continue on its path to expand in Georgia by opening a new location in Johns Creek.
The restaurant at 5815 State Bridge Road will open Feb. 27, and will be the sixth location in the Atlanta area. It’s also the first in the Peach State that will be built with Pollo Tropical’s new Caribbean-style design.

The celebration will start at 10 a.m. with a ribbon cutting hosted by the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce. And members of the Johns Creek Police and Fire departments will battle in a roboSurfer competition to benefit local charities.
Based on the prototype launched in Texas last year, the Johns Creek eatery will boast bright tropical blues and greens, island-inspired lighting and plants and a relaxing patio area. The company plans to open several additional locations featuring the new design in Georgia this year, including in Austell, Woodstock and East Cobb.

“Our new Caribbean-inspired restaurant design transports our guests to the islands, where they can enjoy Life Under the Palm™ and the flavors of the islands in our fresh and healthy menu items,” said Pollo Tropical Chief Operating Officer Danny Meisenheimer. “Our guests can visit the new location every day to explore the menu, and families can enjoy the convenience and variety of meal choices they feel better about eating.”
To serve its guests, the Johns Creek restaurant plans to hire more than 40 hourly team members. The 3,400-square-foot restaurant will feature indoor and outdoor seating for more than 90, with limited table service, and a convenient drive-thru. The company is actively recruiting for all positions and is accepting applications on its website.
Pollo Tropical’s menu is a melting pot of culinary cultures, featuring the distinctive, bold and tangy flavors of the Caribbean. The company has built a loyal following for its fresh, never frozen, bone-in chicken that is marinated in tropical fruit juices and spices and then flame-grilled in the restaurant’s open kitchen. Menu choices include Create Your Own TropiChops®, tropical chicken, sandwiches and salads, wraps, platters, kids meals and family meals.
