Raffensperger To Seek Re-Election To State House
Johns Creek resident Brad Raffensperger has held the State House District 50 seat since he won a special election held in 2015.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- Republican State Rep. Brad Raffensperger has announced he will be seeking re-election to the State House District 50 seat.

"Georgia has had many recent successes and I am working hard over the next few weeks so we continue this path in the 2016 general session," he said. "I have kept my promise to not vote for any tax increases and to support conservative policies that will continue to move our state forward. I am grateful for this opportunity to serve as your state house representative and looking forward to running again."
A former Johns Creek City Council member, Raffensperger was first elected to the seat in a special election in 2015.

Raffensperger has worked on legislation to increase property homestead exemptions, which would provide homeowners tax relief. Those bills that have passed the State House and are waiting action in the Georgia Senate.
If re-elected, Raffensperger said he will continue to push for the re-creation of Milton County or "other structure that will provide Johns Creek and other north Fulton residents more local control over issues that affect their day to day lives," he said in a press release.
He also said he will work to reform and reduce taxes, and address mobility issues around Johns Creek and north Fulton County.
Raffensperger and his wife, Tricia, have three adult sons and two grandchildren and have lived in Johns Creek since 1998. They are members of North Point Community Church.
Raffensperger has a civil engineering degree from Western University and a master's in business administration from Georgia State University.
He is a registered professional engineer in 30 states and a local business owner of a specialty engineering-construction company. Raffensperger currently serves on the House Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications, Intragovernmental Coordination and Juvenile Justice committees.
