Restaurant Inspections: Dead Insects, Pink Mold, Cook Preps Food With Bare Hands

The Fulton County Department of Health and Wellness conducted food service inspections Dec. 14-21 at the following establishments:

1920 Tavern (Food Service Inspections)*

View inspections: December 15, 2016 Score: 74, Grade: C

• Observed employees drinking from cups in main kitchen area. Cups without lid and straw. CA: Advised PIC to ensure all drinking is done away from food prep, storage and dry goods area.
• Observed hand washing sink having bottle of oil inside of it. Also observed no paper towels and soap available. CA: Advised PIC to keep hand wash sink available and free from debris at all times. Also advised PIC to install soap at sink.
• Observed raw beef products stored directly behind raw seafood items in prep top cooler. CA: Advised PIC to rearrange food items according to minimum cooking temperatures.
• Observed several food items in RIC not maintaining proper cold holding temperatures of 41 F or Below. COS: Food Items out of temperature for longer than cooling limit discarded. Others moved to WIC for cooling.
• Observed several food items stored in RIC for 24 hrs without proper date markings. COS: food discarded.

• Observed a container of lemons stored in ice machine. Ice is considered food and so ice must stored so as to prevent contamination.
• Observed cardboard used to line the surface in main kitchen area. All kitchen surfaces must be smooth, sealed, and easily cleanable.
