Russian Baseball Players Bring Skills To Johns Creek
The youth baseball team will join local players at Ocee Park March 29 to take part in mixed team games.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- A long way from home, the Russian Youth Baseball team has traveled over 5,000 miles to Johns Creek to play America’s national pastime.

The team will join in the game of baseball with players from the Ocee Park Athletic Association 9-10 year old baseball teams.
The Russian players will join local players at Ocee Park on Tuesday, March 29 to participate in mixed team games.

Warm-ups will begin at 5 p.m. and games will kick off at 5:45 p.m.
“This is a great opportunity for these boys to get together to play a game they love and to learn about each others unique cultures,” said Jeno Marvel of the Ocee Park Athletic Association.
The games are organized by Atlanta International Umpires, the association that umpires for the Ocee Park Athletic Association. The Russian players will be playing in multiple locations around the Atlanta area.
The Russian team, led by coach Pavel Gladikov, comes to America from Moscow, and will be in the Atlanta area from March 28 to April 9.
The 18 players are staying with host families, and in addition to the local games, will be attending an Atlanta Braves game and visiting other local Atlanta attractions.
