School Board Approves Algebra, Geometry Textbooks
The materials will continue to be on display throughout the summer at high schools in Roswell, Sandy Springs, Milton and Johns Creek.

At its school board meeting on Wednesday, the Fulton County Board of Education approved instructional materials for teaching Algebra I and Geometry.

The textbooks, offered in both print and digital versions, are published by McGraw-Hill. They were approved after the district held a public input period where the materials were placed in all high schools for parents and teachers to review and then provide feedback.
The Algebra I and Geometry materials will continue to be on display throughout the summer in high schools operating a summer school program in either the front office or media center.

These schools are Banneker High School, Centennial High School, Langston Hughes High School, McClarin High School, Milton High School, Northview High School, Riverwood International Charter School, Tri-Cities High School and Westlake High School.
A longtime proponent of more “traditionally taught” math instruction rather than the “integrated” approach, Fulton County Schools now offers traditional math courses in all high schools.
The selected materials go into effect beginning with the 2015-2016 school year.
