Soggy Weather Forces Johns Creek To Close Athletic Fields

All Johns Creek athletic fields are closed Saturday, April 25 due to inclement weather and wet field conditions, the city said early Saturday morning.

Additionally, the Newtown Park Farmers Market has been cancelled due to the threat of severe weather, including lightning.

Also cancelled is the Ocee Park Pitch, Hit & Run. The city said it will not reschedule this event, but other locations nearby will host local competitions May 2 such as the Gwinnett Parks and Recreation’s local Pit, Hit & Run at Lions Park in Lilburn.

In a Hazardous Weather Outlook alert, the National Weather Service said the next storm system is expected to blow through the state beginning early Saturday morning. Another round of storms is expected in the afternoon.
